I was left with a pressing need to write The Myth of Christmas, a collection of stories about Christmas after having directed an opera seminar for prisoners at the Hauts de Seine Prison.
Each carries within it the kernel of truth necessary to all expression. Products of the meandering pathways of memory, they are homage to the generosity of those whom I have had the honour to cross on the road of Life, a testimony to their struggle for existence. Success? Failure? Would that it not have been in vain!
This collection is far from being the ultimate solution to the world’s problems, but it is a stone for the foundation of the bridge, which we should throw over the divide separating us from one another. Let us try to remember that Christmas should be a festival of sharing.
